Director Foster Care & Adoptions - Avery

Crossnore School & Children's Home is recruiting a Director of Foster Care & Adoptions to serve our operations in the Avery County Area. This position reports to our Child Welfare Division Director and will develop, direct, and manage foster care and adoption services provided by Crossnore School & Children's Home. The Director will build a comprehensive, quality, family-centered community-care system by providing planning, goal-setting, and consistent follow-up with children and families served by the agency. This is a full time, exempt, executive-level position.
Qualifications:
Meets requirements for a Qualified Professional.
Minimum training and experience requirements Masters degree from an accredited school of social work and one year of social work or counseling experience; or a bachelor's degree from an accredited school of social work and two years of social work experience; or a masters degree in a counseling field and two years of social work or counseling experience; or four year degree in a human services field or related curriculum including at least 15 semester hours in courses related to social work or counseling and three years of social work or counseling; or graduation from a four year college or university and four years experience in rehabilitation counseling, pastoral counseling or a related human services field providing experience in the techniques of casework, group work, or community organization.
3-5 years of supervisory experience required.
Demonstrated knowledge and experience with Foster Care and Adoptions.
Demonstrated ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment.
Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to interface well with others outside the agency.
Ability to work adaptively and demonstrate flexibility in a variety of settings.
Experience and skills in administrative functions, including organization and monitoring skills; working knowledge of the state mental health system preferred.


Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
